We are pleased to present this 1973 Pontiac Firebird with a four-speed manual transmission, which has been meticulously restored and comes equipped with factory air conditioning. Originally purchased in Tennessee, this Firebird was soon relocated to California, where it remained until 2022. The original owner retained the car until at least 2006, as evidenced by the accompanying receipts and documents. Restored approximately three years ago, this Firebird features an impressive repaint in its original Silver, a largely stock interior, a refreshed 350 Pontiac engine, and a four-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is accompanied by numerous service records, past registrations, and a reproduction window sticker. It is in excellent condition with no visible rust, featuring solid body lines and gaps. The underside of the car is equally well-maintained, with no visible rust, repairs, or corrosion issues. The PHS documents are included with the car.
Exterior
The Silver exterior of this Firebird is in outstanding restored condition and presents exceptionally well both in photographs and in person. The professional repaint, completed about three years ago, is of high quality, providing a brilliant shine and gloss. The paint shows no visible signs of rust, and both bumpers are in excellent shape. While there may be minor imperfections not visible in the photos, nothing significant has been omitted. The tires are practically new with full tread remaining, and the vehicle is fitted with new 17″ honeycomb wheels that enhance its appearance. All weather stripping and window sweeps have been replaced and are in like-new condition. The trunk area is solid and clean, featuring a full-size tire and a replacement trunk mat.
Interior
The Black vinyl interior is in superb, mostly stock restored condition. The seat covers have been professionally replaced and look brand new, showing no major wear. They are soft, comfortable, and the seat foam provides excellent support. The carpet is in excellent condition, free of significant stains, rips, or holes. The dashboard is in great shape, with a dash overlay neatly installed and the dash bezel also in excellent condition. The stereo has been replaced but is currently not connected, and the dash remains unmodified for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in great condition, with both door pulls intact. The headliner and package tray are also in excellent condition. All interior lights and gauges function properly, including the hood tachometer, which is a notable feature with illuminated visibility at night. The horn and wipers are operational. However, the air conditioning and heating are not currently functioning. Although the components are present and many AC lines appear to have been replaced, some wiring adjustments are needed for full functionality. The car has not been smoked in and has no unpleasant odors.
Mechanical
This Firebird is in very good mechanical condition, equipped with the Pontiac 350 engine and an upgraded four-speed manual transmission. The engine was refreshed in 1994 by the original owner and remains in excellent condition, looking clean and well-maintained. The transmission was upgraded from a three-speed manual to a four-speed manual a few years ago. The brakes are effective, providing reliable stopping power. The vehicle runs and drives smoothly, maintaining proper operating temperatures and providing a solid, enjoyable driving experience. In the provided video, the car is shown running and driving without excessive rattles or noises, demonstrating its strong handling and performance. The Firebird starts promptly, idles smoothly, and operates well with no smoke during start-up or driving. A newer Flowmaster muffler has been installed, producing a distinctive exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds. The engine bay is clean and well-detailed, as shown in the photos.
