We are delighted to present this exquisite 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix, a remarkable example of classic American muscle cars. Originally sold in Arizona, this Grand Prix has been meticulously maintained by a skilled mechanic over the past decade, during which over $11,000 was invested in its upkeep. As a result, this vehicle stands as a turnkey classic, ready for enjoyment with a host of modern updates and enhancements.

The vehicle retains its original window sticker, along with several original manuals and a comprehensive collection of maintenance receipts. It features a pristine factory white repaint complemented by a new black vinyl roof, and a classic Grey/Green cloth interior. Under the hood, you'll find a robust 400-cubic-inch engine paired with a newly installed automatic transmission, showcasing the sought-after combination of style and performance.

Exterior

The exterior of this Pontiac Grand Prix is in outstanding condition. The car received a professional repaint some years ago, resulting in a deep, glossy finish that remains in excellent shape. The vinyl roof has been recently replaced, contributing to the vehicle’s refreshed appearance. The panel gaps are consistent, and the doors close smoothly without sagging. Both bumpers are polished to a high shine, free of pitting, and the front grill, license plate surround, and nose emblem have been replaced.

The underside of the vehicle is equally impressive, showing no signs of rust or previous repairs. The car rides on near-new Nitto tires with 17-inch Rally wheels, both in pristine condition. The rear tires are sized at 285/40/17, while the front tires are 245/45/17. All weather stripping and window sweeps are new, ensuring a tight seal. The trunk is solid, with functioning light, original spare tire, and jack, as well as a replacement trunk mat. The glass throughout is in good condition, enhancing the overall appeal of the car.

Interior

Inside, the Grand Prix features a Grey/Green cloth interior that remains in excellent, stock condition. The seat covers show minimal wear, with no rips or fading. The original carpet exhibits some age-related wear but remains in good condition overall. The dashboard is free of cracks, warping, and fading. The original stereo is present but currently non-functional. The door panels are intact, with sturdy door pulls. The headliner is well-preserved with no sagging or tears, and the rear package tray has been recently replaced.

All interior and exterior lights, gauges, and controls are fully operational, including the cigarette lighter. The horn, wipers, and blower motor function correctly across all speeds. A small tachometer has been installed and works effectively. The car has not been smoked in, ensuring a fresh interior ambiance.

Mechanical

Mechanically, this Grand Prix is in superb condition, performing admirably on the road. The previous owner, a mechanic, invested over $12,000 in recent years on enhancements and maintenance. The original Pontiac 400 engine, which was rebuilt some years ago, runs smoothly. Recent upgrades include a new transmission, cooler kit, stall converter, and Edelbrock aluminum intake and carburetor.

The vehicle also boasts a new steering box, linkage, and end links, as well as new front and rear shocks, coil springs, and a rear sway bar. Additional updates include a new flex fan, performance mini starter, alternator, battery, power steering pump, fuel pump, and fuel lines. An MSD distributor has been installed, along with new spark plugs and wires. The braking system has been thoroughly serviced, including a new brake booster, master cylinder, calipers, pads, hoses, and brake shoes.

The exhaust system has been upgraded with performance Flowmaster mufflers and new headers, delivering a characteristic muscle car sound. Recent brake servicing ensures that the car stops effectively without pulling to either side. The vehicle drives smoothly, with no excessive rattles or noises, and handles exceptionally well.

This Grand Prix is a joy to drive, starting reliably with no smoke on startup or while driving. The engine bay is clean and well-detailed, reflecting the care and attention given to this vehicle. Although this is a factory air-conditioned car, some AC components were removed during the installation of the new intake. However, these parts, along with associated brackets and hoses, are included with the car.
